I did this piece as a tribute to Carrie Fisher the day she passed away.
I’m not much into do this kind of things, but that day, I really felt a part of my childhood disappear.
At the beginning I thought to paint a simple portrait. But then I remembered the old times, my sister and I watching VHS tapes over and over again, letting go our imagination beyond that galaxy, far, far away...
So I preferred to represent Carrie Fisher not like the beautiful, imperfect human being she was, but the legend in the eyes of all the kids who, like me, were born in the 80’s.
So yes, this piece is special. It is a memory and it is part of who I am.
