She’s more than an icon: Queen Elizabeth II is a Living Legend, and this is my third, personal tribute to Her Majesty. Inspired by Court Portraits by Velazquez, van Eyck and van Dyck, the artwork is based on pixelation and pixel sorting, and looks like a sort of 'new cubism' artwork, with an unconventional perspective and a 3D effect. --------- Why a pixelated artwork? Because the pixel is the minimum conventional unit of the surface of the digital image. At the same time, it is the unit of measurement of the superficiality and fragmentation of the visual culture of Homo Digitalis.
