Musician and educator Charles Cornell did a deconstruction of snippets of interesting chord progressions performed by Charlie Puth, a well-known American pop artist. In Cornell's study, one particular sequence captured my attention, due to its smooth back-and-forth, minimal loop. Cornell slowed the tempo and broke down the parts to appreciate the effectiveness, simplicity, and usefulness of the piece. I took that sequence further and transported it to a more atmospheric, transcendental setting. This is the result—a piece that will keep going until you land in the minor-seventh of Eb.
