The corrosion of metals and building materials provides a rich tapestry. The colors and textures of weathered objects intrigues me and I develop images that take advantage of their contrasting appearance.
In this picture, a tall once stately structure with an ornate facade, an abandoned cinema, perhaps, slowly weathers. As the cladding begins to fall away, it reveals the structural metalwork and the layers of colored paint that have been laid down upon it over the years.
