Vitaly Dmitrievich "Vitalik" Buterin is a Russian-Canadian programmer and author, best known as one of the co-founders of Ethereum. Buterin became involved with cryptocurrency in 2011, initially co-founding Bitcoin Magazine.
When he was 13 years old, he played his favorite game "World of Warcraft" for 3 years. One day that game took away his favorite feature and he cried thinking how bad this centralized world is in which users have no power. Only a handful of people control everything. At the age of 21, he launched Ethereum, which today has a market capitalization of over $400 billion, helping developers build decentralized applications (DApps).
