Medusa

Medusa is a figure from Greek mythology who was a Gorgon, a monstrous creature with snakes for hair and the ability to turn people to stone with her gaze. She was once a beautiful woman, but was punished by the goddess Athena and turned into a monster. Medusa was eventually killed by the Greek hero Perseus, who used her own reflection in a shield to avoid her gaze and behead her. Medusa is often depicted in art and literature as a powerful and dangerous figure, but also as a symbol of transformation and female power.
