Dawn Attack
Painted in 1991, Dawn Attack, in contrast to the others in the collection, is based in a futuristic setting. It was used on the cover of L. Ron Hubbard’s paperback, Writers of the Future Volume 7 and the cover of "Icon" A Retrospective by the Grand Master of Fantastic Art in 1998.
The Writers of the Future contest was created by L. Ron Hubbard in 1983 as a means of allowing newcomers a chance to have their work seen. Based on its success, a companion Illustrators of the Future contest was also created. This program has provided a starting point for hundreds of writers and illustrators over the 25 years of the contests' history.
