‘Matsutake Musings’ is inspired by the matsutake mushroom which thrives through collaboration with other species. The audio is Kate Simko’s creative sonic composition showcasing both her roots as a classical pianist and composer as well as her skill as an electronic music producer. It features harp recordings by harpist Valeria Kurbatova. Ellie Pritts responds with psychedelic visuals created through a tangled combination of AI, old school analogue technology and the latest in coding techniques. After she saw a face resembling her own emerging from the AI outputs she followed a path the technology was leading.
