I was flown to Aruba to photograph the New England Patriots Cheerleaders calendar. I decided to stay an extra week on my own and practice shooting underwater before heading to Mo'orea to photograph the whales. I stayed an airbnb across the street from the best snorkeling on the island. I woke up every morning, micro dosed and photographed the turtles. They're the perfect models because I got to practice my descent and timing-- every time they'd come up for air, I'd meet them half way with my camera in hand and have a few seconds to get the shot. This was a skill I needed to perfect before jumping in with much larger creatures. The fact that I get to spend my days this way feels surreal.
