Tamamo-no-Mae: a Lethal Beauty

This is the illustration submitted for the FND Community C100 Artbook for the summer Comiket! The theme was Japan and I wanted to draw Tamamo-no-Mae, the beautiful, powerful yokai from Japanese mythology. Tamamo no Mae was a nine-tailed fox who took the shape of a beautiful woman. So beautiful she was that she drove Kings crazy. In this illustration, she wears multi-layered kimono and intricate hair accessories to show her social standing. Her unnerving smile and the short sword she's holding show her dangerous nature. Once you're drawn to her beauty, that's when your demise starts.
