The Cassandra Complex

Inspired by the myth of Cassandra, this series of artworks tells a story at once ancient and familiar. Foresight is a gift that contains its own curse, for the bearer is never to be believed in their own time. Time and Truth themselves become malleable depending on your perspective. These are factors we historically fail to consider when we feel threatened by the Future, often opting to kill the messenger rather than address the source of our Fear. In this series, I aim to illustrate these aspects of the prophet’s plight through humor, mischief and slippery historical reference.
