The vineyard was found in 1872 by the Ponsot family making wines from Grand Cru and Premier Cru vineyards. Laurent Ponsot gained notoriety when he caught the counterfeiter Rudy Kurniawan in 2008 to expose the largest wine fraud in history. The 2015 vintage for Burgundy was clearly excellent and may even be legendary. These wines will be drinking well now but many will benefit and become even finer when cellared long-term. Expect wines from this vintage to be very expensive.
