Golems like Aivar begin their lives at sites where divine bolts of lightning make contact with the surface of Valmotia. The divine energy brings life and power to whatever it strikes; in the case of inanimate rock, stone golems are born. Although his slow movements make offense on the battlefield impractical, Aivar is an incredible defensive powerhouse and can absorb significant damage to defend his master.
