A soldier with a cross in hand,
A Bible by his side,
With God as his guise
He marches forward, a holy man.
He preaches of love and peace,
Of salvation and grace,
But in the heat of battle,
He finds a different place.
For he is called to fight,
To defend his Lord's name,
And so he takes up arms,
To do just the same.
He kills for God, he says,
His faith his guiding light,
But is it truly just,
To take another's life?
For in the end, what matters,
Is not the cause we fight,
But the love we show each other,
In the darkest of nights.
This soldier may believe,
That his actions are divine,
But true faith lies not in violence,
But in love that's truly thine. ...
