Awakening (prologue)

Once upon a time a girl also had a doll. A beautiful one. It was rare to find such a doll in a shop. Except the girl decided to embellish it. To her own childish taste. There was nothing left of its former glory. In time, the girl forgot about it. Just as adults forget their mistakes. Time passed and the forgotten doll languished in the basement of the house, absorbing the bitterness and resentment of the passing years. One Halloween, when the agony of loneliness was at its height, an ancient evil awoke in this once beautiful doll.
