KANDINSKY'S DREAM

My name is Wassily Kandinsky and I am a Russian-born painter and art theorist. I was born in Moscow in 1866 to a family of Russian merchants and academics and I was the only child. Drawing was my passion even as a child, but my parents had other plans for me and I was sent to the University of Moscow to study law and economics. In my spare time, I continued to draw and paint, and eventually, I decided to pursue a career in the arts. I went to study art in Munich in 1896 and it was there that I started to experiment with abstract art.
