Mayureshwar Sanctuary is the closest sanctuary to Pune, where I lived for 3,5 years while on an expat assignment. All the larger sanctuaries, especially those that were known to have a tiger population, were at least a flight away. So, I tried to go out to Mayureshwar at least a few times as it was within driving distance. Though there’s no big cats, there is deer to be found as well as quite a lot of different birds.
