Playful method exploration of digital “painting”. Grounded in suprematist aesthetic, the system celebrates balanced composition through the most simple of individual pieces. A precisely aligned grid of primitive forms is prepared by the machine, ready for disruption. The system runs in real-time allowing direct interaction between system and artist. Via the artist’s hand, objects are flicked, thrown and scattered into pleasingly imperfect, abstract minimalist compositions. Form is discovered through the simulated physical interaction between these most simple building blocks. Familiar and material, the physical constructs of our non-digital world evident by way of this Abstract Simulativism.
