King Lovers

To photograph the connection between two beings is a gift. A sign that even on the hardest of days, longest of years, toughest of times, love exists. These two King Penguins were a joy to photograph on South Georgia Island. The Antarctic Treaty was signed into effect December 1, 1959 to become the only continent with no territorial sovereignty. This was to ensure that all who came, came with peaceful purposes only, so no nuclear waste or production to be established here. This agreement also promotes international scientific cooperation in Antarctica and helps preserve the fragile balance of life.
