The Antarctic Treaty was signed into effect December 1, 1959 to become the only continent with no territorial sovereignty. This was to ensure that all who came, came with peaceful purposes only, so no nuclear waste or production to be established here. This agreement also promotes international scientific cooperation in Antarctica and helps preserve the fragile balance of life.
The Lemaire Channel is considered the most photographic place in the world. Even when it was snowing, raining, super cold and dark, I found the silence and natural beauty breathtaking. There's something remarkable about floating amongst the ice giants of Antarctica.
