Victoire Dupont the Gorgon

Victoire was born a simple peasant girl in a small village in the kingdom of Normandy. When she was just six years old, her parents were killed by a marauding band of bandits. Victoire was spared, but the trauma of watching her parents die left her mute. She was taken in by the local lord and raised as his own daughter. Though she could not speak, Victoire was a bright girl and quickly learned to read and write. When she was ten years old, she discovered a dusty old tome in the lord's library that told the story of Medusa, the Gorgon woman who could turn men to stone with her gaze.
