Lauren Bacall 1924 – 2014) was considered one of the last of the ‘golden age’ stars of Hollywood.
She began as a model at the beginning of the 1940s and within 3 years her appearance on the covers of both Vogue and Harper's Bazaar propelled her to attention of the movie industry.
With an aura of sultry seriousness about her, which lent itself well to her many appearances in film noir genre classics, the rest – as they say – is cinema history.
Best remembered for her long double billing with one-time husband Humphrey Bogart, known popularly as ‘Bogie and Bacall’, and also for starring with Betty Grable and Marilyn Monroe in ‘How to Marry a Millionaire.’
