Another Rainy Day Lots of these accidents happened on rainy and misty days, often at night. There were far less cars but people could just get a license by asking one at the town hall. No wonder there were so many crashes. Chalk was used to visualize the trajectory of the vehicles involved. In these photographs it often creates a focus point where otherwise there would be none. Sometimes the chalk almost seems burnt into the image. Pure white in sharp contrast to the brutality of a car crash.
