Those who contracted the disease suffered strange and terrifying symptoms, and soon the contagion spread beyond the confines of the base camp. Some succumbed to the illness and perished, while others exhibited inhuman abilities brought about by their connection to the strange mineral.
 It was as if Goliath had unlocked something deep within them, something both powerful and dangerous.
