The statue of Christ the Redeemer is located on top of Corcovado mountain in Rio de Janeiro.
The construction took 9 years. In 1931, the grand opening and consecration of the monument took place.
The 38 meter statue takes on lightning, as if diverting thunder from the inhabitants.
