Colour is never impartial, it is flirtatious and above all it is unexpectedly complicated and seductive. These qualities are felt in the works of the artists BYMA and Zach Lieberman. The work of BYMA is heavily informed by traditional patterns, yet their practice is deeply anchored in universal issues such as gender and labour equality that are explored through abstraction.
