Each token is unique and grants partial ownership of the real-world historical bank notes. Starting January 2023, the Pancho Villa Company will award free coffee for life to collectors.
The real-world bank notes were minted in 1913 by revolutionary Francisco “Pancho” Villa to pay for supplies and soldiers in his army during the Mexican revolution. American banks in Texas colluded with this by accepting it as currency, on Pancho's guarantee. Pancho Villa, also known as “The Centaur of the North”, was a bandit who later became the famous freedom fighter who advocated for the poor. A leader of the Mexican Revolution, which ended the reign of oppressive dictator Porfirio Díaz.
