✨The Desi Dulhan Club✨ EXPLAINED This is collection that brings awareness to CHILD MARRIAGE, DOWRY DEATH, HONOR KILLING AND FEMALE INFANTICIDE. My art depicts what ‘marriage’ means for many women in South Asia. I wanted to be very LOUD about the fact that women are being SILENCED in South Asia. That is why Desi Dulhans do not have lips. I wanted the eyes to express the gravity of the situation so I gave them a ‘deer caught in headlights’ kinda look—scared and uncertain.
