Somnium Series

Mario Henrique's original SOMNIUM SERIES is a body of work consisting of several mid to large scale paintings. Making use of uncommon and “rough” materials, like cardboards, reversed canvases and hardware tools, Mario paints abruptly and spontaneously. His approach relies on drippings, splashes and paint throws, so that the physicality of the painting process is transparent in the final piece. For this NFT Series, Henrique revisits and digitally manipulates some of these original paintings, inviting the observer to a renewed exploration of these pieces. It’s an unapologetic departure from traditional media and an exercise in meta-painting, embodied in a series of hypnotic works.
