Tekhne

I choose to work the Greek gods and goddesses generatively to remember the reconciliation of the concept between art and technology. *The Greek word Tékhne, from which technology derives, refers to any and all productive practices and even included artistic production. The Greeks made no distinction of principle between art and technique, and this assumption crossed a large part of the history of Western culture, until at least the Renaissance (DUFRENNE, 1980, p. 165). For a man like Leonardo da Vinci, painting a canvas, studying human anatomy or Euclidean geometry and designing the technical scheme of a machine constituted a single intellectual activity (MACHADO, 2001, p. 24).*
