Fanal by Michael Schlegel

Fanal. Laurel trees of Madeira, a volcanic portuguese island. There’s something awe-inspiring about these ancient trees that have stood still for many years. Some of them are said to be up to 500 years old. In this collection I tried to capture the mysterious atmosphere I experienced while wandering in the fog amongst these majestic trees. The first part of this collection includes 10 images from "Fanal I" and 10 images from "Fanal II", my two series from this woodland. More images will be added at a later stage.
