The Isolated Island

What is utopia good for? Utopia is in the horizon, unattainable. If you walk ten steps towards it, utopia gets ten steps further away. If you walk twenty steps, utopia will retreat another twenty. What is it for then? But for walking of course. Cuba is an island isolated from the world. Our great migrations have been by sea, where hundreds of people have died. That is why, every time I see a Cuban sitting on the edge of our land and looking at the horizon, my mind removes the sea and replaces it with clouds, as if they were looking for a horizon of hope and utopia.
