The Divine Comedy Art

This art project intends to celebrate the 700th anniversary of the death of *Dante Alighieri (1265-1321)*, author of **The Divine Comedy** and Father of the Italian language. Each piece of the collection is an animated GIF that comes to life from the verses of the *canto* to which it refers, after having appropriately assigned an RGB background-color to each ASCII character of the text (same char, same color). Through *magical* transitions, that rearrange the letters like a huge puzzle, an illustration of the *canto* itself – taken from several famous masterpieces – finally appears.
