The Praying Women Series

Welcome to the collection of The Praying Women. Each woman represents a different African community and a personal exploration into the cultures that I was not able to experience as a child growing up in the US as a diaspora. These pieces were created using acrylic painting for the background, then translated onto digital as a mixed media illustration. Representation and connection to the rich history and culture of my father's land is something that deeply drives the direction of my artwork. This collection is the first of many that seeks to connect us to the histories we have all lost through time.
