Black maned beasts

A collection of mean looking, brutal yet gentle male lions with their glorious, black and silky beards. Black maned lions are found in south and east Africa and there are fewer than 15,000 left in the wild with their number declining. Black maned lions produce more testosterone and tend to be more attractive to females than the usual blonde lions. All the pictures are captured by me across Southern Africa in various national parks and reserves driving in my own tiny hatch back and a rental camera. All the pictures have been captured by Subbu.
