Cast of Characters

*Cast of Characters* presents a selection of costumes by Dennis Nance celebrating the absurdity of the everyday. By becoming a bat, a turkey, a gingerbread man, a popsicle or a snail, Nance celebrates the cycle of the seasons. He seeks out the moment when a costume transforms not only the person wearing it, but the environment it inhabits and audience it interacts with. This collection features the 12 images used in the original *Cast of Characters* calendar was part of a project of the same title sponsored by the Idea Fund and the Houston Arts Alliance in 2016.
