Convenience Stores: A Kiosk Culture

Convenience stores have a different name, based on the area of Germany, "Trinkhalle" in the Ruhr region, "Büdchen" in Cologne, "Wasserhalle" in Frankfurt, "Späti" in Berlin or uniformly named Kiosk. For local supply and emergency purchase other points of sale may be suitable, but not for social contacts or the "Quätschchen" (gossip) how you say in German, which go hand in hand with a Kiosk visit.
