SOLD OUT I come from a family of abuse. My dad. Physical, verbal and emotional. I watched in horror and anger how he treated my mom, who is truly a special lady. I remember when I was little, I would shut off my mind and escape in my dreams. This is called disconnecting. I often dreamt of a different family or I would have nightmares of something happening to my mom. There was this moment in grade 5 when my dad was so angry at me for something, he had me pinned on the ground and I can still picture his face shouting at me to this day.
