Nara Dreamland (奈良ドリームランド) doesn’t exist anymore, only in memories.
The theme park near Nara, Japan was in continuous operation for 45 years, from 1961, closing permanently in 2006 as a result of falling attendance.
As nature reclaimed the park, Nara Dreamland became an actual dreamland.
I traveled to Japan in 2016 to capture the last moments before the theme park was demolished.
There is a certain eerie beauty in the abandoned, a quiet stillness and a reminder of the passage of time. Nothing lasts forever. I wanted to be the first to commemorate this beautiful location that not many people have had the chance to photograph in a collection on the blockchain.
