Coal. We all grow from the earth and return to it. Some say that nothing is blacker than coal itself. It heats, it expands, it contracts, coal is the essence of life. At least, the essence of a small mining town on the western peninsula. In this town grew the Coal Miner's daughter. She was neurodiverse. The Coal Miner's daughter was a dreamer, she often dreamed herself away, all hours of the day. When she awoke, she would always feel like a different person.
