The Sakura Series

The Sakura Series is a collection of 8 pieces that utilize the Japanese Cherry Blossom, or the Sakura, as the conduit for its central themes. Many tensions present in the environment of Japan's Azuchi-Momoyama Period can be heavily characterized through the sheer comfort of Japan's stunning, unique flora amidst a field of blood and steel. These tensions serve as the palette for the array of emotions depicted through the Series; between violence and tranquility; between passion and calculation; between eternity and novelty; between security and sacrifice.
