"I feel growing up in Lagos and also interacting in the art community from when I was younger, there was a lot of value placed in being secretive and mysterious. In keeping yourself apart from everyone and everything and not showing what it was that you did. But I feel like now as I’m transitioning to a new place in my life and work, a part of me does want to be seen and experienced and be as open as possible. I feel like art can be the point where honesty and communication meet and we can see ourselves and our work for what they really are.
