Urban Birds: Los Angeles is a collection of 25 photographs by Benjamin Smith. The work focuses on highlighting the juxtaposition of thriving bird life at the intersection of nature and urban human development. In certain photographs birds are the clear subjects. In others, the broader environment is the subject while birds are merely its casual inhabitants. The photos in the collection were captured between January 2020 and October 2021 (with the majority during the pandemic lock-downs).
