Edwardians in Color

When I was 12, I moved from Nebraska to Suffolk, England. It was quite the experience for me moving from the Great Plains to the Fens of East Anglia. I had no friends so I read lots of books. The local librarian pointed me in the direction of historical fiction; in particular, gothic romances from writers such as Daphne Du Maurier and Victoria Holt (and her many pseudonyms) as well as Jane Austin. Imagery of all the dresses also filled my imagination as did the foggy landscapes and quaint thatched roof cottages of the Fens. As a child, I always enjoyed dressing up in my mother’s voluminous 80’s dresses. This collection is me exploring my childhood reveries and playing adult dress-up.
