Tropical Grain

During the pandemic, I purchased a film camera that had showed up as a marketplace post in my feed. I was not looking for this type of camera, nor did I understand how to use it, but I was drawn to it because it reminded me of a photo of my grandfather that I saw for the first time at his wake. This photo of him was tucked into a collage of moments from his life and in this particular image that stood out, he’s taking a selfie in the mirror with his film SLR camera.
