Silent Afghanistan

I am Naz. I am a photographer. I take post-war photographs of people in the midst of presumably ended, but unending wars. I am therefore not only Naz but also Nazedan, Jawid, Nawida, Mustafa, Mohammad, Mirwais, and Moshawer. I am their missing limbs, bullet-riddled bodies, heads injured by shrapnel, bodies dismembered by rockets, their voices, the tears they shed, their stolen childhoods, shortened lives. I touch an atrocious war by touching them.
