Project ENIGMA 696 was a top-secret government project that aimed to create terrifying creatures, called "Lurkers", using a machine that drew on human fears and nightmares as a psychological weapon. However, the machine generated creatures that were too powerful to control, causing widespread destruction before the project was shut down, leaving the true extent of the Lurkers abilities and numbers unknown fueling rumors and theories about their existence.
