Mourning Sun

Our story begins in 16th Century Florence with the hidden love affair between Catherine de Medici, queen of France, and a handsome Frog named Pepito. They loved very much each other, so much so that our lovebirds were soon greeted by a swan bearing a child of their own, Pepe Medici. Fearing certain death for her and her child, if her husband King Henry II discovered the illicit relationship, Catherine put Pepe under the care of his grandfather, Cosimo de' Medici, the esteemed patron of the arts.
