SATOSHIDICE refers to a blockchain-based game that started 2012. A player chooses a bet, say 10x with a winning chance of 9.7%, and sends a certain amount of bitcoin to an operator wallet. The player‘s transaction hash and an unknown secret are hashed and the first part of it is used as a random number between 0 and 65,535. If the number is below a threshold, in the example 65,535*9.7%, the operator pays out 10x of the sent bitcoin amount and zero otherwise.
