Ma'Dear Variations

Started as a digital keepsake created as a provocation in commemoration of the 10-year anniversary of the MOMA R&D Salons, Ma’Dear variations are portraits of a spirited virtual entity with strong genealogy. They are computationally generated images constructed from photos of the three women who inform Stephanie Dinkins’ AI chatbot, ‘Not the Only One (N’TOO).' A portrait of insistence, persistence and deeply acknowledged interrelation Ma’Dear was born during the formation of the forthcoming N’TOO Avatar. This is a growing collection.
